YSR directs officials to supply drinking water to twin cities

Hyderabad, December 13: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation authorities to take measures to supply daily drinking water to the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Inaugurating the 172 MLD sewerage treatment plant at Nagole on the city ourskirts here, he said the government was daily supplying water to 3.61 lakh pipe connections.
Asking the authorities to take necessary measures to supply daily water in Kukatapalli and L B Nagar areas, he expressed displeasure not completing purification work of river Moosi in the city. Though the ofifials had assured him to complete the purification work project costing Rs 600 crore within three years, it had not been completed so far. He directed the officials to complete the works by March 2009.
