Rajagopal Lagadapati (born 16 February 1964) is a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represents the Vijayawada constituency of Andhra Pradesh and is a member of the Indian National Congress. He is a technocrat-turned industrialist, is the Founder Chairman of LANCO Group. In addition to his entrepreneurial spirit, Rajagopal has a strong sense of social responsibility. He established LANCO Foundation (formerely LIGHT), a Charitable Trust, in the year 2000 to reach out to the needy and has been involved in various philanthropic activities. After one-and-a-half decades in the industry, Rajagopal chose to enter politics in 2003. He is a Member of Parliament, India
Social And Cultural Activities:
Initiated Lanco Institute of General Humanitarian Trust (LIGHT); distributed tricycles for physically challenged persons; initiated “Sujalavahani” Drinking Water Bore-wells programme; organised blood donation camps, health camps, sports meet; actively associated with Red Cross and similar other organisations; provided encouragement of Kondapalli art Re-elected in 2009 elections for Lok Sabha from Vijayawada constituency in Andhrapradhesh.
Telangana Division:
He vehemently opposes the creation of a separate Telangana State and initiated a fast unto death to oppose this on the 14 Dec, 2009. To support this cause, he helped create a very nice video which talks about Telugu unity, need for staying united etc
