Rajagopal may have entered NIMS thro’ Erram Manz

HYDERABAD: Though the police suspect that Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal entered the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) premises through the lesser used entrance from the Erram Manzil side, it is not yet known as to how the MP reached the city from Vijayawada.

There are a couple of versions on the route taken by Rajagopal to reach the city and also the mode of transportation.

After leaving the fourwheeler, in which he sped away from the Vijayawada Government Hospital, at a showroom at Ramvarrappadu on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad Highway, Rajagopal reportedly boarded another fourwheeler to reach Suryapet.

From there, he might have taken a bus to reach L B Nagar on the City outskirts.

Even as Rajagopal was travelling in the bus, his close associates followed him on fourwheelers, sources said.

After reaching the city outskirts, he hired an auto to reach the NIMS. He took the route via Secunderabad to reach Punjagutta rather than the shorter route via Dilsukhnagar, Malakpet and Koti, sources said. His supporters also followed him.

As police were kept on guard at the main entrace of the hospital, Rajagopal reportedly took the alternative route which was not much guarded and also less used by visitors.

“Entry into the hospital is through three routes, the main, the other towards Banjara Hills and the other from Erram Manzil side. The Banjara Hills entrance was always kept closed and the only one left is from Errummanzil and he entered through it,’’ a police official said.

The entry from Errummanzil side leads directly to the Millenium block and Rajagopal took the route with a muffler and ‘jerkin’ leaving the police offguard.

Police are also suspecting that the MP might have taken a train to reach the city
