CID searches Sakshi TV office

HYDERABAD: Police teams on Saturday evening confiscated video footage and related equipment from the office of Sakshi TV, owned by Congress MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, even as two journalists belonging to TV5 were remanded in 14-day judicial custody for telecasting a ‘conspiracy report’ on the death of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy which alleged the involvement of the Ambani brothers.


Teams belonging to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), law and order and cyber forensic experts visited the Sakshi TV office on Saturday evening and seized video footage and hard discs containing the report for which cases have been booked against three TV channels, CID additional director general (DG) A Sivanarayana said. The teams also questioned Sakshi TV CEO P Ram Reddy and editorial director Ramakrishna Reddy before walking out of the office of the TV channel with the seized equipment.

While the police remained tightlipped as to whether there would be any more arrests in the case, Sakshi TV sources said they apprehend that some of their senior officials may be arrested by the police on Sunday.
