Polls nearing, Jagan may take over party named after YSR (ysr congress party)

If Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s effort to register his ‘YSR Party’ with the Election Commission of India on time fails, he is likely to contest the coming by-elections from ‘YSR Congress’party.

The YSR Congress was registered by a social activist from Nalgonda town, Shiva Kumar Kollisetty, in July last year and its office is located at Gunfoundary in Abids area of Hyderabad.

Sources in the Jagan camp said he is pressed for time as the by-elections to the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency, from where he resigned last November, and the Pulivendula Assembly constituency, from which his mother Y S Vijaya Lakshmi also quit, may be announced any day.

Jagan wants to start campaigning in his own party’s name, they said.

If the Election Commission is unable to allot him his preferred YSR Party by February 15, Jagan may go ahead with YSR Congress.
