Kiran trying to suppress me politically: Jagan

PRODDATUR: “Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and five of his cabinet colleagues are trying all means to suppress me politically,’’ YSR Congress Party founder-president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has alleged.

Addressing a meeting of MPTCs at Devagudi village in Jammalamadugu mandal in Kadapa district today, the former Kadapa MP said that the chief minister and others were feeling threatened by his political growth and were trying to suppress him by several means. “Unable to face me in the district they had brought about a split in his family and resorted to underhand tactics. They have even resorted to match- fixing with the Telugu Desam to bring me down.’’

The son of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy said that people were closely watching the happenings in the state. When YSR was alive, he ensured 80 percent completion of the projects initiated during his time in the district.

But even after two years of his demise, the remaining 20 percent work awaited completion showing how much the government was interested in the development of the district, he said.

He called upon the MPTCs and ZPTCs to vote for C Narayana Reddy in the MLC (local bodies) election to be held on Monday. Candidate C Narayana Reddy, Jammalamadugu MLA C Adinarayana Reddy and others were present.

Earlier, Jaganmohan Reddy visited a free eye surgery camp at the YS

Raja Reddy Memorial Hospital in Pulivendula where 100 poor patients were operated upon and distributed medicines and spectacles to them.

He also called on the family of a noted doctor, Somireddy, who passed away recently
