Rumours on Jagan palace refuted

The YSR Congress Nellore district convenor, Mr Kak-ani Govardhan Reddy, and the Udayagiri MLA, Mr Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy, asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday to clarify over rumours circulated by the Congress and Telugu Desam on the YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s palace at Lotus Pond, Hyderabad.

Addressing a press meet at the party office, YSRC leaders said that though the party had thrown a challenge to the TD and Congress to prove their allegations against Mr Jagan’s house, there was no one to take this even after 48 hours.

“Mr Jagan’s house is not a lodge or hotel to have 70 rooms and 14 escalators,” they said.

However, they said that an escalator was there for aged visitors.

They also rejected the observations of their political rivals about the mind-blowing price of furniture.

They said that YSR’s father, Y.S. Raja Reddy was doing contracts of major irrigation works, including the Tehri dam, long ago. “He (Raja Reddy) spent huge personal amounts on YSR to come up in political life. As such there is nothing wrong in Mr Jagan having a palace for himself,” they said.

YSRC functionaries said that if elections were held in the state at any time, the TD and the Congress wo-uld be wiped out as people were eagerly waiting for Mr Jagan to be the Chief Minister.
