Jagan to make bypolls cup of T

Jagan to make bypolls cup of T

The YSR Congress party has tentatively decided to contest bypolls in the Telangana region. The party president and Kadapa MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Saturday held an informal meeting with party leaders from the region Mr Bajireddy Govar-dhan, Mr D. Ravindra Naik, Mr Y. Krishna Reddy and others and discussed about the bypolls.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy has not gone on an Odarpu yatra in Telangana region so far except for Khammam district. His efforts to conduct Odarpu yatra in Mahbubabad in War-angal district were prevented by TRS activists who accused him of supporting United AP cause in the Lok Sabha some time ago.

While admitting that the party will be at a disadvantage due to its stand on the Telangana statehood issue, the party leaders in Telangana feel the YSR Congress will have the same standing as the Congress and TD who also suffer on account of their party’s ambiguous stand on the issue. However, it was decided to review the situation before getting the opinion of the party cadres all over the region. It was also decided to select such segments where the party can either win or stand second and cadre should work with an aim to defeat the Congress wherever they contest.
