YSR Congress president & Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy demanded the lifting of the lockout of Regency Ceramics & threatened to take up a statewide stir if the firm failed to do so in the interests of workers.

The YSRC chief consoled the kin of workers union leader M. Murali Mohan, who was killed in the work of the labour unrest in Yanam at T. Kothapalli village on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, they alleged that Yanam police had killed Murali Mohan.

They also asked state government to make efforts to provide security to workers from the state working in several factories in Yanam.

Maintaining that 70 per-cent of the people working in Regency Cera-mics were from Andhra Pradesh, they found fault with the AP government for failing to safeguard the interests of the workers. They demanded that the state government bring pressure on the Puduch-erry government to open Regency Ceramics.

The YSR chief said that most industries located in Yanam were set up by industrialists from the state & was critical of them for subjecting workers from the state to harassment & injustice.

Mr Jagan demanded financial assistance from both the AP & Puducherry governments to the nine workers who sustained injuries in police firing.

Earlier, Jagan visited the desecrated & destroyed statues of Dalit leader Dr B.R. Ambedkar at Amalapuram, Bandivaripeta, Rollap-alem & at Chindadagaruvu.

The YSRC chief, who extended financial help to the relatives members of union leader Murali Mohan, gave an assurance to Mohans spouse Durga that they will bear the educational expenditure of their children.

They reached Black Bridge & cleansed the statue of the Dalit leader by pouring milk on it.
