Ysr Confident To Win 230 Seats
HYDERABAD : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy tried to create confidence among his ministerial colleagues that his government would return power in the next elections by showing the survey reports of political opponents CPM and CPI. After completion of regular agenda, he referred to a reported assessment by CPM polit bureau in New Delhi that the Congress was at the top in the rankings of political parties in the State.
He also pointed out hat the CPI and CPM State secretaries K. Narayana and B.V. Raghavulu themselves confessed to the pre-eminence of Congress over other parties. They disclosed the correct picture prevailing at the ground level in spite of the political rivalry of Left parties with Congress, he said.
YSR said that as per his assessment he was confident that the Congress will win 230 Assembly seats in the next elections. However, YSR warned the Ministers not to give scope to the Opposition to corner the Congress. He also asked the Ministers to shed their overconfidence which was caused by the effective functioning of the Government.
Admitting that the party is facing several problems at district level, the Chief Minister cautioned that differences between leaders within Congress which had frequently come into the open should not be ignored. They should be sorted out in coordination with the District Congress Committee
