YSR's son jagan to be offered union cabinet berth?
In a bid to sort out the Andhra Pradesh leadership tangle, the Congress leadership is likely to offer the late Andhra Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy's son Jaganmohan Reddy a cabinet berth before the upcoming winter session of Parliament. The speculation has come about after newly appointed Andhra CM K Rossiah met Congress president Sonia Gandhi two days back followed by Jagan's meeting with the Congress President yesterday. Jagan is likely to be offered Minister of State, Shipping (Independent charge). The ministry is currently held by G K Vasan, son of late G K Moopanar. Vasan has indicated the desire to devote more time to state politics in order to reestablish his dominance over the Congress state unit. However, it is not clear whether the PM will let go of Vasan or move him to another portfolio. There's also speculation over whether the PM will only include Jagan in the expansion or will go for a bigger expansion. With the 'Jagan for CM' campaign run by YSR loyalists running out of steam on the face of the high command's resolute backing for the veteran K Rosaiah, the 36-year-old Kadappa MP might have little option but to accept Congress offer of a central ministership
