Opposition Flays Ysr Bashing Policy
HYDERABAD: The opposition parties in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly flayed the Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy’s `opposition bashing’ policy. Chief Minister while choosing to make a police statement in the House on power started digging into the past mistakes committed by the former Chief Minister Chadnrababu Naidu’s regime. This sparked row from the opposition benches seeking a ruling from the Chair whether the Chief Minister was making a policy statement on Opposition-bashing. TDP senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu sought to know from the Deputy Speaker G Kutuhulamma, whether bashing the Opposition was the policy statement.
The former speaker Ramakrishnudu wondered that this is the first time in the history of Assembly that Chief Minister is making a statement reprimanding the Opposition. After more than three hours of debate on power issue during the Question Hour, the entire Opposition staged a walkout.
The Chief Minister gave the Government’s version by rebuking the Opposition. The TDP members who earlier staged a walkout entered the House and rushed to the podium. They objected to Chief Minister’s criticism against the TDP and obstructed his speech.
As chaos prevailed in the House, the Deputy Speaker announced that all the questions were deemed to have been answered and adjourned the House
