YSR blames TDP for the delay

Addressing public meetings at Mellacheruvu and Shantinagar villages after laying a foundation stone for the Dhondapadu - Nakkagudem Lift Irrigation Scheme and Shantinagar Lift Irrigation Scheme, the Chief Minister said the road expansion works had to be stopped as TDP leader and Madhucon C o n s t r u c t i o n s chi e f N Nageswara Rao had obtained a stay from Delhi High Court.
Stating that people had full confidence in the Congress government, Rajasekhara Reddy said it had fulfilled all its election-eve promises, including supply of free power to farmers, generating employment opportunities through National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, disbursement of houses and pensions to the poor under the Indiramma scheme, and completion of all pending irrigation works.
Noting that the State had witnessed rapid progress in the last four-and -a -half years, the Chief Minister said that steps were on to extend irrigation facilities to additional 10.86 lakh acres in the district under the Sriramsagar Project, Devadula and Srisailam Left Bank Canal.
He said that while the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy was hiked to Rs 520 from Rs 500 per quintal during the previous TDP regime, the Congress government had increased it to Rs 930 from Rs 520 per quintal .
Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy, Home Minister Jana Reddy, IT Minister R Damodhar Reddy and District Collector Purushottam Reddy were among those present.
