The 10-day 'Odarpu Yatra' by former Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy resumed on Monday morning from NAD Junction at Visakhapatnam. This is the first time he is undertaking the program after submitting his resignation to the Congress party and after announcing his plans to launch a political party of his own. Supporters at Visakhapatnam made all necessary steps to make the yatra a big success. Jagan intends to cover 795 km in 15 Assembly constituencies at a scorching pace during this phase of the yatra, He will unveil 125 statues of former Chief Minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and will console 18 families in the process.



Jagan Mohan Reddy arrived at Visakhapatnam Airport by air on Monday morning. He was received by large number of leaders, supporters and people at the airport. MLC Pulli Padmavai, MLAs Babu Rao, MP Sabbam Hari, former ministers Sambasiva Raju Peddinti Jagan Mohana Rao, former minister Ramakarishna were prominent among those who welcomed the young leader at the Airport. The city police made heavy bandobust for his visit.



Beginning his Odarpu Yatra at NAD junction, he showered flowers on YSR. His speach dealt the issues pertaining to all sections of the society. He recalled how late YS Rajasekhara Reddy reached the aspirations of the common people. He touched all sections viz., power sector in farm community, education, Aarogya Sri etc. Addressing the gathering, he said how the family members feel happy when their beloved one returns home with good health after treatment in corporate hospital. YSR is in the hearts of the pensioners and added that the people wants YSR rule.



Another nirahara deeksha

After the successful 48-hour 'Lakshya Deeksha' in Vijayawada that focused on the Governments both at State and Central to come to the rescue of the farmers who were severally affected with inconsistent rains in the State, Jagan is now getting prepared to undertake another one in New Delhi. During his Odarpu Yatra on Monday, he announced that he will undertake a hunger strike in New Delhi on January 11, 2011. The nirahara deeksha (hunger strike) names as 'Rytu Kosam' in protest against the Krishna Water Tribunal and to highlight the problems of farmers. He said that had YSR alive, the negative judgment would not have delivered. All the supporting MLAs and MPs will participate along with him. He said that had had YSR alive, injustice should not have been done in respect of the distribution of Krishna waters.



Meanwhile, Minister P Balaraju met Congress MLAs and Corporators in Sriharipuram and advised them not to take part in the Odarpu Yatra.



Jagan ends Day 1 at K Kotapadu

Jagan Mohan Reddy finished first first day of Odarpu Yatra in Visakhapatnam at K Kotapadu. He is welcomed by thousands of his supporters at 2 in the night. Jagan garlanded the statue of YSR and addressed the supporters. He thanked all his supports who dared the chilling winds and cold weather. Jagan earlier has unveiled YSR statues in Adduru, Chouduwada and Gullepalli villages.
