Former Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch his Odarpu Yatra in the vizianagaram district, carrying his ysr congress party flag for the first time from Monday. This will also be the first time that Mr Jagan will be campaigning for his YSR Congress party and with the agenda of welfare schemes, which he claims, was not fulfilled by government after the death of his father and former chief minister Mr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
Mr Jagan will be mostly depending on former minister Mr P. Sambasiva Raju, who was denied a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections in 2009. Party sources said that the Congress government had placed the responsibility on the transport minister, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana, to control party workers from attending the Odarpu. Sources also said that it was Mr Satyanarayana who was instrumental in sidelining Mr Sambasiva Raju and denying him the party ticket.
Mr Jagan launched his Odarpu in Srikakulam all alone as no MLA or MP attended the rallies. It was only former minister Konatala Ramakrisshna, Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari and Paykaraopeta MLA G. Babu Rao who participated in the Odarpu. Sources added that those opposing Mr Satyanarayana and denied party nomination in the last two elections would be rallying round Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.

March 29: Continuing his tirade against the Congress, former Kadapa MP Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the Congress government has failed to implement welfare programmes and the Opposition Telugu De-sam instead of pulling up the ruling party has been remaining as a mute spectator. Both the parties have engaged in slinging mud at his father and former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
Mr Jagan made a whirlwind tour of the Vizianagaram town and addressed a meeting in Gajapathinagaram during his second day of the Odarpu Yatra on Tuesday. Mr Jagan alleged that the government has been diluting all the welfare programmes launched by his father and unfortunately the opposition Telugu Desam was not fulfilling its role. Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari said the leaders who enjoyed benefits during Rajasekhar Reddy tenure were now creating hurdles for his son who was on a noble trip. Former minister P. Sambasiva Raju and other local leaders were present.

Odarpu yathra has postponed by ys jagan
Ys jagan has postponed his odarpu yathra in vizianagaram due to the by-elections schedule declared by Election Commission.Ys jagan return to Kadapa for preparing for by-elections. Keeping in view of the recent MLC election results and the secret understanding between the rival TDP and Congress parties, Jagan has been asked to be much cautious than ever before to win the elections with huge majority. Jagan will continue his Odarpu Yatra after the by-elections are over.
Winning the by-elections in Kadapa and Pulivendhula constituencies for Jagan and his newly launched YSR Congress party is very important. Jagan and his mother will contest in these 2 constituencies as the YSRC party candidates.
Late YSR’s brother Y.Vivekananda Reddy may contest from either of these two constituencies on Congress behalf. But, Congress still didn’t reveal its strategy for these by-elections.
