Jagan for interest-free loans
June 22: Addressing a road show on the third day of Odarpu Yatra in Kottachervu mandal on Wednesday, the YSR Congress president, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, said that students, women and aged persons remembered the support given by YSR during his regime. Mr Jagan said that the YSR government had lent a hand to women by bearing nine per cent interest rate to provide three per cent loans to them. But the present state government was receiving five per cent interest subsidy on loans from the Centre and would benefit with two per cent if it reduced the interest rate on loans by three per cent.
He demanded interest free loans to farmers in the state and said that people would not welcome a nexus between the Telugu Desam and Congress. Mr Jagan said that the Congress and TD would not get their deposits in the ensuing elections and people would witness the YSR golden era in the state soon. He consoled the families of Ramappa and Narayanaswamy in Enamurupalli and Bramhanapalli villages; their members had died after hearing about YSR’s death. Earlier, Mr Jagan visited Satya Sai Baba's Maha Samadhi site and paid tributes to the spiritual guru in Prashanti Nilayam.
