Expressing solidarity with paddy farmers who opted for ''crop holiday'' following losses, Y S R Congress party would organise a massive dharna here on October 1, YSR Congress party President and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy announced today.


Addressing a public meeting at Devarapalli in Krishna district last night, he said the YSR Congress party would organise a massive darna expressing solidarity with the paddy farmers who were forced to go on crop holiday.

The paddy farmers are so disgusted that they are under the impression that it is better to end life rather than cultivate paddy as they are not only being offered low remunerative price for their produce, but also facing difficulty in finding buyers for their produce.

He alleged that fertilisers were being sold in black market like cinema tickets. The farmers were in a miserable state. It was high time steps were taken to infuse confidence in farmers, he alleged.

The YSR Congress party President is undertaking ''Odarpu Yatra'' in the district to console the bereaved families whose members allegedly committed suicides or died unable to bear the death of his father and former Chief Minister Y S Rajaekhar Reddy in a helicopter crash two years ago.
