Vijayawada: Two former ministers Pilli Subhashchandra Bose and Thota Gopalakrishna met YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy during Odarpu Yatra in Krishna district on Friday.
The two leaders met Mr Jaganmohan Reddy at different places and held closed door discussions with him. Mr Jaganmohan Reddy is currently touring Gudivada Assembly segment for the third consecutive day and is expected to enter the Kaikaluru segment on Saturday.
During his Odarpu Yatra in Gudivada, the YSR Congress chief consoled the members of seven families who have lost their breadwinner following the sudden death of Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy in a helicopter crash on September 2, 2009.
The YSR Congress chief, during his road-shows and street-corner meetings, targeted the Telugu Desam for joining hands with the ruling Congress to spoil the image of late Dr Rajasekhar Reddy.
He directed his criticism mostly at Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu, whom he had asked to reveal the secret behind his richness to every poor farmer. “Chandrababu Naidu had grown rich from just two acres of his land in just 25 years time. I want him to teach the technique to all the farmers so that no farmer would commit suicide because of debts.
Every farmer would become rich and there would be no crop holiday too,” Mr Jaganmohan Reddy said amidst cheers and whistles from the gathering.
Meanwhile, NTR Telugu Desam president N Lakshmi Parvathi said that for the first time in the history of any nation, both the ruling party and the Opposition have disappeared from the political scene.
She said that the two parties have given up the issues concerning the people and were targeting only one leader (Jaganmohan Reddy), who is emerging in the State politics. She criticised the government for increasing the petrol prices once again.
She welcomed Telugu film hero Nandamuri Balakrishna entering active politics. She said she wanted Mr Balakrishna to take over the leadership of the Telugu Desam instead of working under the leadership of Mr Chandrababu Naidu.
Referring to Mr Chandrababu Naidu’s statement that his wife had earned a few crore rupees by selling milk and vegetables, Ms Lakshmi Parvathi requested the TD chief to give her one Heritage parlour to make money.
