VISAKHAPATNAM: The birthday of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was celebrated by different organisations here on Wednesday. The birthday cake, brought by the Dharana Seva Sangham, was cut by the children of Sunflower Special School. Later school uniforms were distributed.
At a meeting organised by AU unit of National Students Union at Andhra University, notebooks, pens and pencils were distributed to poor students.
Y.Raja Rao, president of the unit and others participated. At another meeting at the office of MP T. Subbarami Reddy, party MLA Tainala Vijaya Kumar, who was the chief guest, recalled the welfare measures initiated by Dr. Reddy for the benefit of the poor in the society.
Books were distributed to students at a meeting organised by the AP State Youth Congress Committee at Bala Vikasa Kendra. General secretary, D.Ananda Kumar Reddy and others spoke. Members of the INTUC (Youth),Greater Visakha unit, offered special prayers at a local temple on the occasion. President of the unit K.Kondababu and general secretary of INTUC K.S.Mohna Kumar spoke.
Under the auspices of GVMC corporator P.Jyothi, the birthday was celebrated at the Society of Visakha Network Positive by its members. Mayor P.
