Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy is on cloud nine as he has stars like Nagarjuna, Krishna and Mahesh Babu for company.
The Nandi state film awards in Hyderabad turned into an exhibition of starpower by the Congress -- the party's filmy response to superstars Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna turning politicians.(Watch)
"We are all great fans of Mahesh Babu and we will help the Congress in the elections," said one of the fans present in the award function.
Mahesh Babu, the heartthrob of millions of Telugu film fans, made it clear his heart beat for YSR. Mahesh's father, superstar Krishna, has already pledged his support to the Congress.
"This is the second time I am receiving the Nandi Award. And both times I have received it from you, YSR Garu. Sir, you are lucky for me," he said.
There were others like actor Mohan Babu who did not beat about the bush. Mohan Babu's antagonism to Chiranjeevi is the worst-kept secret in film circles.
"I wish that YSR becomes Chief Minister again and again and again," Mohan said.
Another big catch for the Congress has been actor Nagarjuna, who recently appeared in TV spots, singing YSR's praise.
